The Owner started out in construction working for his father and grandfather's construction company after school and during the summer for their company and during high school summers worked on the High school in Vernal, Utah for Albert Smitty and Son's Masonry Contractors. After high school Shawn worked as a heavy equipment operator for Sunwood Homes and Rindelsbach Construction in the SLC and surrounding areas. Later he earned his degree and begun his career as a Residential Designer / Drafter and later freelance drafting service to architect's performing commercial design and drafting services for 15 years. Shawn then met his wife and had to start his Residential Design and Drafting service and worked doing that for 15 years, later he and his new fiancé started a residential and commercial cleaning business and Residential Handyman service which leads to HnHS services today. HnHS services and his partners have decided to include all the necessary services to handle most any service a house and home may possibly need. We here at HnHS hope that we can provide most any service that anyone may need as a One-Stop-Shop for most and service a person, business, or family may need. We hope that our service makes life easier for our customers and clients freeing up their time for the things that bring them joy in life!

Looking on-line to find a designer / draftsman to help me acquire a permit from Cottonwood Heights and then make my ugly little house beautiful seemed like a daunting task, but with Shawn Knowldens’ help, I am on my way!
I tore the house down to the 2x4s, changed 3 small bedrooms into a master bedroom suite and a guest room, added a garage and expanded the downstairs bathroom.

I looked on google for an affordable draftsman, and one of the first with good reviews was SKD. I called and connected with Shawn. I was concerned that he was located in Vernal, and our project was in Salt Lake City, that it would be an inconvenience for the project, but Shawn came out within a day or two and got most of the measurements he needed and was able to produce a set of drawings for MEP engineers to use, and also for city review. We ran into a couple of snags, as happens with any project, and Shawn was able to address them with his architect partner, Malcolm. We were able to resolve all the issues, and overall it went well. Shawn was open to feedback about things that I needed from him, and very responsive to concerns and changes (which isn't always the case with designers I've dealt with in the past). My experience with SKD was a little rough a couple times, but in the end, Shawn showed up and made me feel like he heard me and the owner of the project. This was his first commercial design job in a little while, and we just had to knock a little rust off. In conclusion, I am happy with my choice to use SKD, and will use their services again. Shawn and Malcolm were very attentive to mine and the customer's needs (at an affordable price at that).
